In addition to a full line of trucks, the company offers telemetry, connectivity, and various maintenance plans.
It’s no secret that Mercedes-Benz has the most comprehensive line of trucks on the Brazilian market, including the light model Accelo, the semi-heavy Atego and the extra-heavy Actros and Arocs. In addition to the vehicles, the manufacturer of the three-pointed star is present in Brazil with various services. If the streets speak, Mercedes-Benz not only listens, but also offers the best solution, whether through Fleetboard telemetry services, maintenance plans, warranty extensions and spare parts.
All these services are essential for a large company like Gees, which operates in every segment of the agribusiness: seeding, production of fertilizers, pesticides and transport of all this. There are 1,941 employees. Its CEO, José Antônio Gorgen, underlines the benefits of this long-standing partnership with the truck factory: “In 1988, I bought my first Mercedes-Benz. It was a 1113, built in 1977. The current Gees fleet has around 400 trucks Of these, 273 are Mercedes-Benz, Actros models 2651 and 2653?, guarantees the executive.
Trucks cannot fail, as they also operate in export operations. Of Gees’ 273 Mercedes-Benz trucks, 172 rely on the Fleetboard telemetry system, in which fleet managers can follow the truck step by step: speed, cornering, braking, nothing escapes the system. This results in up to a 15% reduction in operating costs.
Gees Actros are also covered by maintenance and extended warranty plans. “All of this brings peace of mind that we have no surprises. Plans bring security, but it’s worth remembering that Mercedes-Benz trucks don’t break down easily and don’t require high maintenance. They’re excellent, they run year-round,” he says the director-president of the company, satisfied with the long-standing partnership.
Another solution Gees uses are Renov parts, which are remanufactured. They cost up to 55% of the value of a new part and come with a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty. The manufacturer also supplies original Mercedes-Benz spare parts and also the Alliance line, with spare items such as filters, brake drums and discs, turbines and accessories with quality and competitive prices.
“The correct choice of spare parts and the place to service trucks and buses guarantees peace of mind and customer satisfaction. Original and Renew spare parts applied by a network of properly trained dealers guarantee this trust”, underlines Roberto Leoncini, Vice President of Sales and Commercialization of trucks and buses of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. “Furthermore, we always try to exceed our customers’ expectations. After all, vehicle care is essential to ensure the best performance and safety on the roads and in city traffic,” he adds.
Connection
The manufacturer’s service offer also includes Mercedes-Benz Uptime, which connects the customer and the truck to the factory. The artificial intelligence monitors the vehicle and recognizes any changes that could lead to a breakdown.
Truck maintenance plans have four levels, from the cheapest to the most comprehensive. In October there will be another plan, Complete Plus, which will include the Management Consulting service. Another service is the extended warranty. Up to 24 months of extra coverage is available, with exclusive service throughout the dealer network. There are two plans, Extend or Extend Plus.
The German-born automaker also has a loyalty and rewards program where every real money spent on parts and services generates a point. Called Mercedes Club, it also has an application where the customer can consult and redeem points, consult current campaigns or partner companies to obtain discounts.
There is also the Liga na Estrada application, linked to the Fleetboard telemetry system. In it, the driver or fleet owner can monitor the vehicle’s performance. And transport and logistics companies still manage to organize competitions between drivers to try to improve the performance of each one, generating scores among the participants.
Services
Mercedes-Benz also offers different conditions for the purchase of trucks, both through the bank itself and through a consortium. “We’ve already made acquisitions through Mercedes-Benz Bank. It’s safe to have a factory bank to finance,” recalls Gorgen. The manufacturer’s finance division also includes insurance for the entire vehicle line (trucks, SUVs and cars).
the trucks
The Actros 2651 have 6×4 drive and are equipped with the renowned Mercedes-Benz OM 460 LA engine. The transmission is automated, model G 291, with 12 gears. They can leave the factory with metal or air suspension.
The Gees fleet also includes the Actros 2653 6×4, with the Mercedes OM 471 LA engine. That’s 530 hp at 1,600 rpm. Maximum torque reaches 2,600 Nm between 950 and 1,400 rpm, which ensures plenty of available power, even at low revs, resulting in fuel savings. Its transmission is also automated, with 12 speeds. It is worth mentioning that the Actros 2653 can also be equipped with a metal or pneumatic suspension.
Both the Actros 2651 and 2653 have spacious, functional and comfortable cabs which offer the driver unparalleled comfort. The maximum towing capacity of both is 80,000 kg.
