Although the SAG-AFTRA strike has been officially announced, House of the Dragon will continue to tour.
Deadline (via ComingSoon ) has indeed reported that filming will not stop for HBO’s flagship series, which is set in the UK and features a mostly British cast working under equity contracts — as opposed to SAG-AFTRA contracts, which are at issue. The union is said to have advised its members who have signed equity contracts to “keep showing up for work”.
This actors’ strike has just started. Accordingly, production under the SAG-AFTRA television and film contract must be terminated immediately. This is the second time that actors and screenwriters have gone on strike, the previous one dating back to 1960.
