More than a decade later, Joe Jonas changed the lyrics of his song to be a compliment to Taylor Swift.

When it comes to events that can spark an immediate social media frenzy, it’s true that the playing field is pretty wide these days. But as trends come and go, an eternal guarantee is that the internet will absolutely explode when a celebrity A.) instigates a fight with Taylor Swift, B.) breaks feud with Taylor Swift , or C.) has something else to do with it. Joe Jonas knows this better than others (except Jake gyllenhaal ) how this cycle could unfold, given that it has been a love / hate target for the Swifties since the two pop megastars’ three-month relationship in 2008. Now, it appears that Jonas has completely buried the metaphorical ax during “a concert “. , which involved editing the lyrics of a popular Jonas Brothers song that originally cast a shadow over Swift. (At least as far as speculation is concerned.)

As those familiar with Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift’s story probably know, the Jonas Brothers song “Much Better” contains lyrics that should be aimed at Swift, as it came after his infamous ellen show interview, the subsequent reaction of Swiftie and her Bold track “Forever & Always”, which talked about their short-lived relationship. But during what appears to be Jonas’ last live performance of “Much Better”, fans went crazy hearing him change the wording to now be more in favor of his former Grammy winner. Check out the changes below:

  • Original version: I have a rep to break hearts / Now I’m done with the superstars / And all the tears on his guitar
  • Version 2022: I’ve got a rep to break hearts / Now I’m okay with the superstars / And all the tears on his guitar

Of course there weren’t any eye-popping changes, but changing a word from Joe Jonas still meant the world to leagues of pop music fans. (I mean, not the ones who live to bullshit and arbitrarily beat people, but those people can never be satiated.) Twitter excerpt from the performance below, knowing it is the musical equivalent of a peace treaty.

It’s not that he’s surprisingly inviting her to the stage or anything, but still, Jonas spreading the lyrics in such a low-key way is at least a sign that they might. potentially share the stage together in the future. It’s another step in the right direction, if nothing else, and further indicates that both musicians have outgrown their most heartbreaking perspectives.

Because let’s not forget that Jonas changed that same line in the past to (presumably) refer to Taylor Swift. In 2009, the same year as the Jonas Brothers album Lines, screws and test time released, he performed “Much Better” while singing that he was “done with the stars of the country”. It is therefore clearly the most notable hub for presenting discreet updates on your current location with Swift.

To be sure, Joe Jonas is certainly not trying to fix things for romantic reasons, as he is currently experiencing it. a happy marriage with game of Thrones veterinarian Sophie Turner, who was recently is part of the cast of HBO stairs . turner, currently pregnant with her second child is a huge fan of Taylor Swift’s music, and the Swifties certainly haven’t lost it loves songs inspired by her husband even if years before they met.

Not to mention that Taylor Swift has been in a romantic relationship with actor Joe Alwyn since 2016. (At this point, though, I don’t know what Alwyn thinks of the Jonas Brothers’ music.) So even if he’s none other than old friends they come back friendly, nothing else is needed.
