Spin-off Gen V: The Boys has a premiere date on Amazon

Amazon Prime Video has revealed the premiere date of “Gen V”, a spin-off of the series “The Boys”. The announcement was also accompanied by an unpublished poster of the derivative.

In the original attraction, “V” is the name of the drug used by the Vought company to give people superpowers. The spin-off will feature Godolkin University, a superhero college run by Vought. There, the new Generation V study how to control their powers, fighting for the best endorsement deals as company representatives.

Just like “The Boys”, the series promises to bring an acid style marked by explicit scenes. It’s worth mentioning that the derivative already won a gory preview late last year, which offered a glimpse full of violence and with a more serious tone than the original attraction.

Produced by Seth Rogen (“Super Mario Bros. The Movie”) and Evan Goldberg (“Malous in Trouble”), the series has received an “R-Rated” rating – ages 17 and up in the United States. In an interview with Empire magazine, the producers confessed that this aspect guarantees more freedom to create content without too many restrictions.

“‘Gen V’ has some really crazy stuff. The fact that the characters are in college and a little bit younger maybe makes it all the more shocking,” Rogen said.

Cast with the Brazilian Marco Pigossi

Initially, the series was developed by screenwriter Craig Rosenberg (“Sisters”), who is part of the team of “The Boys”, but he left the project during the production of the pilot, citing creative differences.

In his place, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, creators of ‘Reaper’ and ‘Emergence’, took over as showrunners and made several changes to the project, including the initially considered cast.

Starring Brazilian Marco Pigossi (“The Invisible City”), the cast includes Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo (both from “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Lizze Broadway (“The Here and Now”), Maddie Phillips (“Hunters bounty” )”), London Thor (“Shameless”), Derek Luh (“Shining Vale”), Shelley Conn (“Bridgerton”), Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Arnold), Sean Patrick Thomas (“The Tragedy of Macbeth” ) and newcomer Asa Germann.

“Gen V” will premiere on Amazon on September 29, with episodes released weekly through November 3.
