Fernando Villavicencio was in fifth place in polls of voting intentions
Fernando Villavicencio, presidential candidate of Ecuador, was assassinated this Wednesday (09). He was shot three times in the head after leaving a political meeting in the city of Quito. In a candidate’s Instagram profile there are videos showing an attack.

According to the newspaper “El Universo”, people who were at the campaign meeting heard shots and then realized that Villavicencio had fallen to the ground. It was ranked 5th in a poll released on Tuesday (08).
The president of Ecuador, William Lassoconfirmed on a social network that the candidate was assassinated.
