Aguirre decides to remove four players from Santos

Santos head coach Diego Aguirre has decided to remove four players from the team’s main squad. Thus, full-backs Cadu and Pedrinho Scaramussa, defender Robson Reis and midfielder Ed Carlos will begin training, starting this Thursday (17), at alternative times.

The players have not committed any disciplinary action. Aguirre’s decision was purely technical. The coach saw the need to reduce the group for the rest of the season and announced that he will not be able to count on the quartet. In fact, Robson Reis and Ed Carlos had previously been removed from Paulo Turra, reinstated and again set to work separately from the cast.

Cadu has only been on the field twice this season. He was a starter in the draw against Blooming, in Peixe’s farewell in the Copa Sudamericana, as well as entering the second half of the defeat against Cuiabá, in the Brazilian championship. Pedrinho Scaramussa has not yet made his debut with the Peixe professional team.

Striker Marcos Leonardo, however, who has not trained with the squad, is already participating regularly in club activities.

Diego Aguirre understands that working with a smaller group is important at the time Santos is going through. Peixe is in 17th place and first team in the relegation zone. Alvinegro Praiano is back on the field this Sunday, at 4 pm, in Vila Belmiro, to face Grêmio, for the 20th round of the Brazilian championship.
