Boy, Girl: Why Aren’t Alexandra Lamm and Jean Dujardin in TF1 Prime?

After a wait of almost 20 years, the series Boy, Girl is all set to make a grand comeback on television. This Monday 28 August from 9.10pm, TF1 will air the first part of a special anniversary bonus called Boy, Girl (plural), which will see a host of stars reprise their iconic series’ flagship sketches.

Broadcast from October 1999 to October 2003 (and reruns several times since it was discontinued), Boy, Girl followed the adventures of Chou and Lulu, the now iconic couple played by Alexandra Lam and Jean Dujardin.

And if 36 celebrities agreed to walk in the shoes of Alex and Jean, the original performers refused to play, much to the dismay of fans, Alexandra Lamm and Jean Dujardin will definitely not attend the two anniversary evenings.

Why did Alexandra Lamy and Jean Dujardin refuse to return?

Bonus producer Florence Budeau revealed to our colleagues at TéléStar that the two actors simply refused to return Boy, Girl (plural).

We contacted them three times“, he explained. “Alexandra frankly refused, explaining that her character had been with her for a long time. But he thought the idea was brilliant and promised to watch this version. Jean Dujardin’s agent answered us in the negativeHe also explained that the comedian “He refused without explanation“.

So Ines Reg, Stephan Burns, Virginie Ledoyen, Arie Elmaleh, Joystar, Julie De Bona, and others have a heavy responsibility to make us forget the original interpreters of the series’ sketches, which are also updated.

“The idea is to pay respect to the series, so only take the original texts” explained the producer in Télé 7 Jours magazine. “Some of them were outdated, we adjusted them, and some of them were watered down, because we can’t say everything anymore“.

See you on Monday 28 August and 4 September from 21:10 on TF1 to discover two episodes of Boy, Girl (plural).
