Netflix Trailer: First Assassin’s Creed Images, Next David Fincher!

It is one of the most anticipated films of the year. David Fincher’s Assassin starring Michael Fassbender is (can’t wait) on Netflix on November 10th. Fincher’s twelfth feature — and second for Netflix since Mankind — has been in the works in one form or another for a long time. The film has been announced since 2007! and should have seen the light of day under the direction of Paramount.

Ahead of a September 3 presentation in Venice – where it is in competition – the film’s poster was unveiled yesterday, featuring Fassbender’s character. In the poster, the actor is seen wearing a hat, a Hawaiian shirt and a blazer, giving some idea of what his character looks like.

And the synopsis says a little more about his psychology: “After a contract goes awry, an assassin finds himself pitted against his clients – and himself – as he hunts down the planet. But as he likes to say, it’s nothing personal…Fassbender’s character description also indicates that he will play an assassin who begins to crack psychologically as he develops a conscience, even as his clients continue to demand his skills.

Now we can take the temperature of the film with the first teaser, which gives a glimpse of the killer’s methodology to the music of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (so recognizable). Then the images follow each other at full speed with this sentence that repeats itself like a mantra: “Stick to your plan(“Stick to your plan”).

We predict a dark and suspenseful thriller, with bursts of that typically Fincherian violence. This avalanche of images – if nothing else reveals the framework of the script – on the other hand, says more about the pressure and psychological heat of the title killer.

Fincher talked about the project for 16 years before finally being able to start filming in Paris in November 2021. It’s also the first film starring Michael Fassbender since X-Men: Dark Phoenix came out in 2019. Quite a classy comeback, isn’t it?

Along with Fassbender, the film stars Tilda Swinton, Arles Howard, Charles Parnell and Monique Ganderton. Seven screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the screenplay, while Mank cinematographer Eric Messerschmidt is working with Fincher again. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are also responsible for the film’s soundtrack. What a good news! The thriller is adapted from the comic book series The killer Frenchmen Alexis Nolent (Matz) and Luc Giacomoni.

See you on November 10th on Netflix to find the killer.
