Now some of his co-stars are out in support of the arts and crafts icon. Actor Stu Matthew Lillard addressed the pay controversy Twitter via Midnight Movie Club saying:

It was a success. Did they make a lot of money? Yes Should Neve Campbell be paid for the work she has done on five films in a franchise? Yes, because she is the female lead in one of the most successful horror franchises.

Neve Campbell released a statement on the defection of scream 6, offering an honest reason why he decided not to reprise his role this time around. Although she initially hesitated as expected, the disagreement eventually came due to a wage dispute. The statement says:
Unfortunately, I won’t be doing the next Scream movie. As a woman, I have had to work very hard in my career to establish my worth, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt that the offer that was presented to me did not match the value I brought to the franchise. It was a very difficult decision to move forward. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You have always been incredibly supportive. I will always be grateful to you and what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years.
From the character of David Arquette Dewey was murdered in the last movie, now it looks just like that Courteney Cox may be the only OG character It appears inside scream 6. The cast is currently reuniting, with Hayden Panettiere of scream 4 return Like Kirby Reed. Though it’s hard to imagine what the slasher franchise would look like with its latest daughter, Sidney.
