Ahsoka | What is the identity of Marrok, the masked villain of the series?

Who is hiding under the villain’s mask has become one of the burning questions among Star Wars fans since Ahsoka’s debut.

fans of Star Wars who are following the episodes of Ahsoka, new Disney + series, seem to have found a new mystery to try to unravel on the internet. The presence of the new villain Marrok, a former masked Inquisitor, has already begun to generate several theories about his identity.

Proving that a fan of Star Wars what they really like is the masked villain, everyone wants to try to find out who is hiding behind Marrok’s elegant mask, assuming it’s someone already known from the franchise or just a new character.

It is a mystery that will certainly be worked on throughout the season and it is very likely that his identity will be revealed only in the final episodes. However, that doesn’t stop some theories and speculations from starting to circulate to further engage fans.

Who is Marrok officially?

His identity is not disclosed in any official Marrok materials Ahsokabeing called only by that name and with a brief description on the official website of Star Wars. That description says the following:

A former Inquisitor who hunted Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary for Morgan Elsbeth to do her dirty work. Completely clad in battle-worn armour, the warrior still carries his circular-hilted double saber.

There is nothing better than watching episodes of Ahsoka already revealed, all the more so that the Inquisitors are already part of the story Star Wars for years, appearing in animation Rebels and, more recently, in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Who can be Marrok

There are two theories about Marrok’s real identity and, in a sense, both can make sense in the context of the series and the saga. Star Wars all in all. The first theory is that Marrok would actually be Galen Marek, known as Starkiller and the protagonist of the game. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Starkiller was Darth Vader’s apprentice in the early days of the Empire, often sent by the Sith to hunt down Jedi survivors of Order 66. As of right now, the character is completely out of the official Star Wars timeline, but i fans have noted that her voice actor, Sam Witwer, is in the credits of Ahsoka lending his voice to various characters.

Witwer has also worked on other works by Star WarsAS Star Wars: Clone Wars, Rebels AND Earthin which he voiced the Sith Darth Maul, and also participated as an actor Boba Fett’s book AND Andor.

The actor previously revealed that in conversations with Dave Filoni, the producer of Ahsoka revealed that he even considered including Starkiller Rebels as Inquisitor, but abandoned the idea. That was enough to make fans connect the dots and start imagining that the character is Marrok.

The second theory, the one that would need more explanations than perhaps the Ahsoka Tano series could give. Fans believe the mercenary could be Ezra Bridger, the Jedi who sacrificed himself in the end Rebelstaking Thrawn to another galaxy.

The search for Bridger and Thrawn is central to the plot of Ahsoka and making the Jedi a villain would require a great deal of mental effort to explain how he managed to go back to where he was, be corrupted by the dark side of the Force, become an Inquisitor, and ultimately a mercenary.

There is also the possibility, this gigantic one, that Marrok is simply Marrok, an Inquisitor who is now a mercenary and will never have his face revealed, like many other masquerades of Star Wars. It’s worth mentioning that, in the classic trilogy, Boba Fett was basically that.

The solution is to keep following Ahsoka to know if the villain will have more prominence or will be simply very stylish.
