If the latest superhero movie numbers are any indication of “superhero fatigue,” the genre is still doing well on Prime Video. Following the success of The Boys – which is awaiting a 4th season – the spin-off, Gen V, will be released on September 29.
Although the actors’ strike prevented any promotion, the platform has not delayed the release of this highly anticipated fiction and continues to reveal its images with the latest trailer, still as bloody and loaded.
This new storyline takes place at Godolkin University, an institution tasked with training the next generation of superheroes. It is not surprising that bullying occurs in schools. Students will quickly have to put aside their competitive spirit and their hormones to take care of it.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of a shocking version of the X-Men. Hopefully the 8-episode series honors its promises.
The cast includes Jazz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizzy Broadway, Shelley Cohn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Lue, Asa German, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigosi.
