The great villain of the John Wick saga, he will be the hero of the remake The Crow

Makeup change for Bill Skarsgård! After playing him in the new adaptation, the actor will take on the role of Eric Draven in the reboot of The Crow.

The actor, who recently played Marquis Vincent de Grammon in John Wick 4 opposite the wild Keanu Reeves, will star alongside FKA Twigs, Danny Huston, Laura Byrne, Frenchman Sammy Bouajilla and Jordan Bolger.

Adapted from the James O’Barry comic, The Crow follows Eric Draven and his fiancée, who are killed by a gang after wrecking the couple’s car. Eric is resurrected by the raven and takes revenge on those who took his life and that of his love.

The feature film has been in the works for many years, with several directors (Steven Norrington, F. Javier Gutierrez, Corinne Hardy) and up-and-coming actors, including Jason Momoa and Luke Evans, trying to succeed each other. But unlike previous efforts, this one is on track, with a $50 million budget already confirmed.

The film will be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell) and written by Zach Beilein, nominated for an Oscar for The Williams Method Screenplay with Will Smith.

in a press release received by The Hollywood ReporterProducers Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell and John Jenks said:

“The original film left an indelible mark on our culture. We’re thrilled to create a new adaptation for today’s audiences. Rupert Sanders has brought a new dimension to creating a modern world in this timeless saga of eternal love, and we can’t wait to share that vision with audiences.”

Brandon Lee in The Crow

James O’Barry’s work has already undergone several adaptations: Alex Proyas’ The Spade in 1994 and its sequels, City of Angels with Vincent Perez (1997), Salvation (2000) with Eric Mabius and Kirsten Dunst. and The Crow: Wicked Prayer with Edward Furlong and David Boreanaz. Unforgettably the late 1990s television series hosted by Mark Dacascos.

The first adaptation under the direction of Brandon Lee is considered a cult film, especially because of the tragic story of the actor who died on the set. During the shooting scene, Bruce Lee’s son was shot with a gun that was supposed to be loaded.

The reboot is produced by Lionsgate.
