“I always play either the cop or the scoundrel!” : Stephane Hannon from Plus Belle la vie There are murders in Font-Romeu tonight on France 3

Saturday, September 23, 2023, France 3 invites its viewers from 9:10 p.m. to discover the murders in Von-Rome, a new part of the series “Murders…”. Here Béatrice de la Boulay and Stéphane Hannon play the detective duo in this episode.

The story begins with the shock of a small town when a Baptist father is found murdered in the famous Hermitage, near the National High Training Center. While Lieutenant Thomas Erelbaz, in charge of the investigation, seems to be running the investigation like a dilettante, his colleague Julie Delpech, who has just arrived from Paris, can barely pack her bags.

The investigation forces two gendarmes to take an interest in the famous sports center and Christina, its director… but the truth comes out when the cards are dealt. In Font-Romeu, a mysterious individual does indeed settle old scores with the past.

In the microphone of AlloCiné, Stéphane Hannon recalls this experience and discusses the future of the series Plus belle la vie (of which he was one of the stars on France 3), which will be released on TF1 in a few months.

AlloCiné: What did you like about this project, “The Murders at Font-Romeu”?

Stephen Hannon: Doing a unit like this changed me because I’m more used to doing series. I loved the change of duo then! Here I met Beatrice de la Boulaye, with whom things were going very well. The script that was offered to me was also interesting because it was similar to the Murders franchise… but it also had a social side to it. I found the original. Finally, it is also the creator and producer of Plus belle la vie who is the producer of this film. And only after the end of the series, it was not bad to continue it.

What can you tell us about your character?

He is a thinker, he has a military side, very straight. He always takes great perspective. He does not bother to say anything, he is often a spectator while observing. He’s honest and has a priority… which we don’t think! Also, I wanted to change Bohr’s character to be a little more zebby.

What sets your duo apart from other “Killing During…”?

They remind me of the duo from the 1980s American series Clair de lune. Loved their dog and cat side. Plus, we’d love to have a sequel to find out what happens to our heroes!

Did shooting in the mountains cause any limitations?

It is sure that the mountains have changed since Marseille! But we cannot say that this environment created limitations for us. We do ‘passionate’ jobs, so we see it as more fun!

Then, it is true that it was snowing on the day of our arrival. We actors are not the worst. They care about us. Technicians, on the other hand, have a harder time. Marion Lallier also had to find nefarious means to try to carry out the plans before everything melted down! It was not easy for him. Luckily there was a good atmosphere and everything went very well.

Does this TV movie have a social dimension, like we said, is that important to you?

Definitely. We are talking about people, it concerns me. So if a movie sends messages and opens minds, all the better! But I don’t feel justified in claiming conviction like other actors. It’s hard for me, especially when we have viewers and people we like.

Did you know Béatrice de la Bouillet before you starred with her in The Murders at Font-Rome?

There is no way. Never seen his work in Tropiques Criminalelles. He completely changed it because he is usually in the tropics, in the sun! He plays more in a swimsuit than in a down jacket (laughs). He is a simple person, great and funny. He didn’t forget that he was there to play. He and I are here to entertain people, to convey our feelings. We are big kids.

What were your other projects after you finished Plus belle la vie?

I shot with Laurent Guerra at Morts au Summit. I did a Frédéric Sauger film with Agnes Jauy and Jonathan Zakkai called Le Cours de la vie. I didn’t have a big role, but it was very good! And I was in Leo Matteo as a guest with Jean-Luc Reichman, where I played an unfriendly baker… Anyway, I always play either a cop or a scoundrel! (laughs)

How did you react to the official announcement of the end of “Plus belle la vie” by France 3?

I am an intermittent performer, I knew very well that it would end… you know, I had to do three months and I stayed there for 16 years! It was just a gift for me, I was excited. It was emotionally incredible. We gradually separated from each other. To experience this ending is still good. I could have stopped a year, two or three years earlier, but then we were all done together. It was pretty magical… and here’s the icing on the cake, we’re going back!

easily. How are you experiencing the resurrection of “Plus belle la vie” on TF1 today?

Honestly, it’s incredible! They called me and said:are you still going“And I did:”Listen well, yes! Of course !’ (Laughs) I’ve never been so spoiled by a role as Boher. I went everywhere with this character, I did everything! All! that’s why i saidYesNo problem, 3000%!

Are you afraid that this PBLV will be different from the one you know?

This soap opera is a brand. If it is taken, it is to preserve this social side, which is the DNA of Plus belle la vie. We can’t do otherwise because they have the rest of it all begins here or tomorrow belongs to us! I think there was a demand. People were sad it was over, I was getting feedback from the community every day. Either way, we’ll see, and that’s great because we’re going back! Let’s move forward, be positive, see the glass as half full and go! I think we are all in this state of mind.
