Spotify gains features that let you listen to music in groups

Among the many new features that Spotify announced on Monday morning (25th), there is also the arrival of Jam Session, a new feature that allows you to create and listen to playlists shared simultaneously with friends. According to Engadget, the tool works like a music session, where a host can create a “room” and invite other users to listen with them.

Jam takes some of our most popular features and combines them with our personalization technology to make listening to music with friends better than ever. With Jam, Premium subscribers will be able to invite others to add songs to a shared queue and enjoy an exclusive music experience for all listeners.

Jam allows users added to the music session to add songs, having several controls in the room. However, only hosts can change the order of tracks and remove songs they deem unsuitable – they can hand over control to their guests if they wish.

The Jam owner can also enable “Guest Control” mode to allow everyone in the session to remove or change the order of songs. When this mode is deactivated, only the Jam owner can rearrange the order of the songs.

Spotify Jam will be available globally starting this Tuesday (26th).
