The actor of The Protector stood out almost 30 years ago as a unique detective, worthy of a saga.
There are few active actors with a career as enviable as that of Denzel Washington. A performer who can lead all kinds of projects, from dramas of any scale (more epic or more contained) in which his sophistication shines, to pure exercises in adult entertainment, sometimes even trashy which he turns into gold with electric charisma of him.
There is practically no project that has him as the protagonist and it doesn’t work. And if the project is moderately solid, it’s up to him to turn it into a classic. He has that talent, sometimes inexplicable, as well as impeccable professionalism. Something that can be seen in one of his best films, the underrated The devil wears blue.
A demon free in Los Angeles
In this exquisite noir thriller, Washington plays Ezekiel “Easy” Rawlins, a man in financial difficulty who becomes an investigator with the unexpected task of finding a missing white woman.

It’s not an easy job, even if it may seem so, as Rawlins will have to wander the underworld of 1948 Los Angeles and come across two violent murders that will be linked to a mysterious woman in blue.
The director and screenwriter Charles Franklin adapts one of private detective Easy Rawlins’ novels, with a series of sordid stories that would have been perfect for an adult film saga.…
