Bad news for Archive 81 fans! The Netflix horror series will not have a second season.
It was a hit when it came out on Netflix two months ago and scared many platform subscribers. And yet, the American giant decided not to update the archive 81 for a second season. Adapted from a podcast script by Mark Salinger and Daniel Powell, this horror series was created by Rebecca Sonnenshain (Vampire Diaries, Boys) and produced between them. Others, by James Van.
Archive 81 follows the investigation of Dan Turner (Mamudu Ati), an archivist who intends to restore a collection of damaged video recordings for Virgil Davenport (Martin Donovan) in the early 1990s.
During the research, Danny discovers the work of Melody Pendras (Dina Shihab), a student and documentary filmmaker who covered a New York building in the 1990s where a dangerous cult was located. Thinking he can help the young woman, Danny discovers a hostile supernatural world and finds himself in a terrible situation at the end of the inauguration season, the end of which reflected the second season.
and still, Deadline Exclusively tells us that Netflix does not want to update Archive 81. This decision is surprising considering that the horror series was a huge success on the platform and that fans were eagerly awaiting the second season.
