In Martin Scorsese’s film, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro play Ernest Burkhart and William Hale, respectively
Lasting almost 3h 30m, Flower Moon Assassins has several heavy and dramatic scenes, which tell of the massacre of Osage in the United States. However, the film has some embarrassing scenes, such as Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) catching from William Hale (Robert De Niro).
To prepare for the scene, in which William Hale hits the ass Ernest Burkhart with a kind of taco, DiCaprio used padding in his pants to alleviate the pain, according to the director of photography Rodrigo Prieto during an interview with Insider.
In the conversation, Prieto recalled watching the scene on set and thinking how much pain he would feel. For the filming, he praised DiCaprio for being open to trying anything the director Martin Scorsese requested during production.
I don’t think that was in the first script. This was something that was added and is shocking in the film.
“I remember doing them a few times and thinking, ‘Oh, that must hurt.’ There was some padding on his butt,” she stated. “But you could say that De Niro it was really hitting him… Leo He’s ready for a lot. He will do anything.”
