This weekend an event will take place on Copacabana beach with the participation of 400 athletes






The eighth stage of the RJ Beach Tennis Circuit will have favorites and will define the last places in the King and Queen of Praia

More than 400 athletes will compete on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th in the eighth and final regular stage of the Fairmont Beach Tennis Circuit, organized by ABTERJ, the Beach Tennis Association of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The event takes place on Copacabana beach, in the courtyards of the Quiosque Nativo, near Calle BolĂ­var. The sponsorship is from the Fairmont Hotel.

In the women’s Open/A category the leading pair of the ranking will seek the title with Roberta Seidl and Juliana Reis. They will be challenged by Louhana Barreto and Nanda Vicente, Carol Costa and Gisele Guimar, among other partnerships. In Men/A, ranking leader Juca Abreu works alongside Antonio Vollmer, known as Kutter, one of Rio’s beach tennis legends. Assad Salida, fourth place, plays with Renan Branco. The competition for both the main categories and for classes B, C and D will be final in the ranking of the eight best who will be called up for the King and Queen of Beach Tennis in Rio de Janeiro, which will take place in December.

The stage is worth points towards the convening of the States Cup which will take place in January 2024. The eighth stage of the Fairmont Beach Tennis Circuit is sponsored by the Fairmont Hotel and has the support of Trem do Corcovado, Quiosque Nativo (Av. Atlantica, 3040 – Copacabana), of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro and of the SMEL – Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure of Rio de Janeiro. The organization is ABTERJ (Beach Tennis Association of the State of Rio de Janeiro).
