Against Cuiabá, Corinthians won again away after three months. Now Timão seeks a second win away from home against RB Bragantino to get even closer to staying among the elite of Brazilian football.
The last time this happened was exactly the same fasting period. At the end of July, Alvinegro Paulista consecutively beat Atlético-MG, in the Brasileirão, and Universitário-PER, in the round of 16 of the South American Championship.
As hosts, Corinthians has the 14th best season in the Brazilian league. In 15 matches, Timão achieved three wins, four draws and eight defeats.
After the triumph in the last round, against Atletico-PR, Alvinegro Paulista took a breather in the tournament standings in terms of points in the running. With 40 points, Mano Menezes’ men are in 14th place, six points ahead of Vasco, the top club in Z4.
The match against RB Bragantino is scheduled for this Sunday, at 4pm (Brasilia time), at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium.
