Mélanie Laurent’s Les Voleuses has made a real heist on Netflix. Since its release on November 1st, the film has reached number one in 36 countries – and is in the top ten in no less than 86 countries – with 18.5 million views worldwide.
A successful bet for the actor and director, who offered a feminine and feminist action comedy for his first collaboration with Netflix.
Flanked by Adele Exarchopoulos, Manon Breche and Isabelle Ajan – excellent as the godfather, Volleys tells the story of the dangerous mission of three burglars tasked with recovering the painting Martial Raysse, La Grande odalisque, displayed in a Corsican villa.
If the success is undeniable, what is the response of the critics? Reception of the film by the press was mixed. echoes talk”An efficient, explosive and clever heist movie“, Პirveli indicates some length but recognizes its quality”Pure entertainment“, while Télérama emphasizes the existence of “A trio of explosive actors“.
Least seduced, likes pointIM sorry”Cartoon plot“And release thinks the film is leaking”False female complicity“, before adding: “Of these claims, only imitations of Ocean’s Eleven remain.”

I had a good time with these #thieves ! Good direction, great casting, very funny scenes. An unpretentious, entertaining and effective action comedy, performed by a trio of top actors.

There are very good times ahead #thieves Ink by Laurent.
Weird, a touch of madness, emotion and a beautiful trio.
The connection between Melanie and Adele/Carol/Alex is really beautiful and touching.
A movie that just feels good.— Mile – K (@Kmille_Dilhani) November 6, 2023
cool #thieves.
Kind of Ocean’s meets Cat Eye’s.
Yes, it’s a bit light script, but how I liked these girls. They are funny. They are bad. They are precious. They stir up sorrows that bring tears. pic.twitter.com/lphnWECbY3

It is a bit difficult to understand the complete fuss surrounding the film #thieves. This is a movie about friends, very generous in beautiful scenes and friendship. A friendly film that takes me by its side #thieves mega cool A beautiful achievement by Melanie Laurent. pic.twitter.com/QDqGii3chL

#NW Mediocre in its setting, narration and cut. And with all the will of Exarchopoulos, Bresch and Antoine Roch’s photo. #thieves is a film both useless and dull with failed humor that ultimately only manages to steal 114 minutes of our lives. pic.twitter.com/Bt08E64vXc

#thieves Between two beers, a hastily written movie on the corner of the table. Stale dialogue, not funny. Action scenes worthy of beep-beep and coyote chases (and again, a master class). I kept saying to myself, what are you doing here watching this movie? pic.twitter.com/5AwjvIh2H9

Quite disjointed, both in rhythm and cinematic suggestion, a sequence of sketches for which no dramatic link is preserved. The girls have a blast, we laugh sometimes, we often shout. #thieves pic.twitter.com/rpYDgFUZOt

Another disastrous production #Netflix .#thieves It’s cinematic crap, none of the dialogue is right, horribly shot action scenes, just Adele Exarchopoulos trying to exist with this nightmare.
Even the poster is flat, with no ugly ambitions. pic.twitter.com/fqwLQTN120
