Brazil has sun, lots of heat and rain during the November 15 holiday

The heat wave is still affecting the country and areas of instability are strengthening in the South, causing heavy rains

A cold front advances from the sea and passes along the coasts of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, but without having the strength to cause major changes in the weather in the South-East Region.

The low atmospheric pressure over Paraguay and the persistence of warm and humid winds coming from the north of Brazil stimulate the formation of heavier clouds over the south, which remains on alert for heavy and voluminous rains.

A mass of warm air remains over Brazil, keeping temperatures well above normal over the southeast, central west, parts of the northeast and northern Brazil.

Warm, dry air predominates in the Northeast, while moist, warm air predominates in the North.

Weather forecast for Brazil – 11/15/2023 – Wednesday

Southern region

Low atmospheric pressure over Paraguay and the persistence of warm, humid winds from northern Brazil stimulate the formation of heavier clouds over the southern region.

The three states remain at risk of heavy and voluminous rainfall. This Wednesday the rains will be more intense and frequent in the north and north-west of Rio Grande do Sul and in the south-west of Paraná, where Foz do Iguaçu is located.

In the south of Paraná, in Santa Catarina and in all the other areas of Rio Grande do Sul the day is always cloudy, it rains at any time, but every now and then the sun can peek out.

In the north, center and east of Paraná the sun is strong, it is very hot and there are rain showers with lightning in the afternoon and part of the night.

Curitiba is the hottest capital in the south

South-eastern region

The intense heat and the passage of a cold front along the coasts of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro stimulate the formation of heavy clouds over part of the South-East Region.

In the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro, in Espírito Santo, in the regions of Minas Gerais, Vale do Rio Doce and Vale do Jequitinhonha, the sun appears strong with some clouds, but there are no conditions for rain.

Midwest Region

Warm air predominates in the west-central region of the country, keeping temperatures quite high across the region. Heavy clouds develop in various areas of the Region.

The sun appears strong throughout the day, it is very hot and there are conditions for rain showers with lightning in the afternoon and evening in all states and the Federal District. The rain is short-lived, but can be moderate to heavy in small areas.

Rainfall is heaviest in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, due to the influence of low atmospheric pressure in Paraguay, which facilitates the formation of large clouds. It is not expected to rain only in the far north-east of the state of Mato Grosso, in the areas bordering Tocantins and Pará.

Cuiabá, Goiânia and Campo Grande are among the hottest capitals.

North-East Region

Dry air predominates over the Northeast and inhibits the growth of large clouds over much of the region.

A day with strong sunshine is expected in all states, with temperatures that could exceed 40°C in the areas of western Bahia, in the interior of Maranhão and Piauí and in the hinterland.

Some rain showers are expected along the coast, in the Zona da Mata and Agreste, from the south of Bahia to Piauí. In Maranhão there are rain showers with lightning in the afternoon and at night, but in isolation.

Teresina is among the hottest capitals in the country.

Northern Region

Moist, warm air predominates over the northern region and allows heavy clouds to form over much of the region.

Dry climate and strong sun prevail in almost all of Pará and Tocantins. It rains only from the afternoon onwards in the far north of these states.

Roraima is also very sunny and hot, with rain expected starting in the afternoon, except in the south of the state. The sun also predominates in the northeast of the Amazon, in the Itacoatiara region.
