Previews, meetings with film crews… quickly discover the program of the Royan Film Festival!

From December 6 to 10, 2023, the 3rd edition of the Royan Film Festival will take place, an event that annually highlights works that invite us to analyze society through the eyes of filmmakers. It will be an opportunity for the audience to discover up to twenty feature films in previews and meet the teams of some of these films. We will inform you about the program!

During these 5 days of cinema celebration, seven films carefully selected by the organizers will be in competition: Matteo Garrone’s Me Capitan, Julien Carpentier’s My Mother’s Life, Lea Todorov’s New Woman, Koreda Hirokazu’s Innocence. Rosalie by Stephanie Di Giusto, La Ferme des Bertrand by Gilles Père and La Fille de son père by Erwan Le Duc.

Among them, a jury of professionals was specially appointed to make a decision, led by actress Clotilde Courau (last summer’s Le Théorème de Marguerite) and screenwriter Jacques Fieschi (Lost Illusions). The two co-presidents are flanked by director Claire Simon (Notre Corpus), producer Francois Krause and Francois Aimé, cinematographer and honorary president of AFCAE.

Outside the competition, the public will also be able to discover the biographical film Bonnard, Pierre and March during the opening ceremony, the animated film My Friend the Robot, the historical drama Honorable Mention with Roshdi Zem and Doria Tillier, the comedy Iris and Men. Worn by Laure Kalami, or Thierry Clifford’s Les Rois de la Piste, among many other must-see movies before their official release!

The festival is also aimed at youth with a program adapted to school and school sessions for students from CP to final year, with 13 films about friendship, family, differences, etc. Find here all the information about the feature films shown at this event.

Organized by the associations Les Rencontres Cinematographics du Sud and Royan Fait Son Cinéma, this festival takes place at Le Lido and Le Relais cinemas in Charente-Maritime. The special price for the sessions is €5 per seat (except for the opening and closing ceremonies €6).
