An 18-year-old young man was arrested red-handed on Friday 1st after killing a 17-year-old schoolmate. The case occurred in the Atafona neighborhood, in São João da Barra, Rio de Janeiro. The victim’s boyfriend was also stabbed by the attacker.

According to the Military Police, in a note to EarthFrom initial information it appears that the accused lured the young woman to his home by telling her that he would give her a book. From there, using the victim’s cell phone, she called her 16-year-old boyfriend to come to the location. Then he killed the girl and stabbed her boyfriend.

A team from the 8th BPM (Campos dos Goytacazes) was called to respond to a possible homicide incident. At the scene, the suspect was found detained by residents of the region.

The girl was rescued and taken to Ferreira Machado hospital, but did not survive her injuries. Her body was buried this Saturday the 2nd. According to the military police, her boyfriend also did not resist.

To the newspaper RJTVfrom Globo, the delegate Madeleine Dykeman in charge of the case said that in the testimony, the accused declared that since he was a child he had wanted to kill people.

“If there was an emotional relationship, if there was a platonic love, if there was an unrequited love, he says no, they were just colleagues”, added the delegate.

To the newspaper, the police also confirmed that the examination results showed that the teenager had been raped before she died of asphyxiation.

The accused confessed to the crime and was arrested. The incident continues to be handled by the Guarus Police Station (146th DP).
