Love Actually marks Richard Curtis’ fourth collaboration with comedian Hugh Grant. The two men have previously worked together on Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love at First Sight in Notting Hill and Bridget Jones’s Diary. With Love Actually, Richard Curtis also joins Colin Firth (after Bridget Jones’s Diary) and offers a small role to Rowan Atkinson, his lifelong accomplice, for whom he wrote hundreds of sketches and most notably created the famous character of Mr. Bean.

One of the main tracks from Love Actually, titled Christmas is around And played on screen by actor Bill Nye, no stranger to the world of Richard Curtis. This is actually a revised version Love is everywhereScottish band Wet Wet Wet’s hit and the flagship song of Four Weddings and a Funeral, written by him in 1994.

From London to Marseille

Love Actually was filmed mainly in London, but also, in a first for Richard Curtis, elsewhere in Europe. So the film crew also went to Marseille to shoot some scenes with Colin Firth. An experience in the south of France that really pleased the British director.
