Nicolas Cage justified his retirement plan after his father’s death
Nicolas Cage is already drawing up a retirement plan: “I must have three or four films left in me,” he said in an interview with Vanity Fair (via NME). “I feel like I’ve said what I needed to say with film. I’ve taken acting as far as I can… I want to be more rigorous in my selection process. I want to say goodbye in style.”
The actor, who turns 60 in January, spoke about his father’s death and explained why he was already worried about his last steps. “If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll have a good 15 years and hopefully more. What do I want to do with those 15 years, using the bad father model? It occurred to me very clearly that I want to spend time with my family,” confessed Cage.
Father of Nicolas, August Coppola was an academic, also brother of the famous director Francis Ford Coppola. He passed away in 2009, aged 75.
