“She Kicked Me Out”: Why Charlize Theron Was Fired From This Movie At The 6th Oscar

After winning an Oscar in 2004 for her role in Monster (a film for which she had to gain several pounds, which she recently said she no longer wanted to do), South African actress Charlize Theron nearly won the coveted statue a year later.

While still on Stern’s mic, the actress also revealed that she was due to play the character of Roxie Hart – the heroine of the film, who is accused of murdering her lover and sent to prison – and that she was fired from the project “A. Change of director:
