It’s one of the most popular series of 2023: The Last of Us became a hit this year in the curse of adapting bad video games into live action. This fiction by Neil Druckman and Craig Mazin won over fans of the video game franchise, but also newbies.
Dramatic and post-apocalyptic thriller, which entered the history of serials, captivated the public thanks to its impeccable casting, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay, its moving story and sophisticated visual effects.
Suffice it to say that Season 2, which is an adaptation of the second video game installment The Last of Us: Part II, has high expectations among fans. Unfortunately, production on these episodes was delayed due to a double strike by writers and actors, which has now ended.
And if some fans are hoping for a late 2024 release, they might as well pull out their tissues because they’ll have to wait a long time before they discover The Last of Us Season 2. The filming date and production process have finally been revealed. New episodes are expected to debut in February 2024 in Canada.
But with post-production taking time, this new season shouldn’t be available until 2025 on HBO and HBO Max in the US. Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO, already hinted about it in an interview Deadline But this seems to be confirmed.
The American cable channel has indeed released a video (which can be seen in the tweet above) of the films and series planned for their upcoming schedule, and claims that The Last of Us season 2 will be seen in 2025.
So fans will have to be patient and wait for the next casting information, namely the expected character of Abby, but also about the synopsis when the movie starts shooting. I hope it will start on time.
