The villa of the “biggest bicheiro of SP” goes to auction for around R$22 million; see photo

With 42 thousand square meters, the villa of Ivo Noal, who became known as “the largest bicheiro in the State of São Paulo”, will be auctioned this Friday 15. The property is valued at R$ 21.9 million and is located at Feiticeira beach, in Ilhabela, on the coast of Sao Paulo.

The house will be sold to pay for an ongoing alimony case in the 1st Inheritance and Family Court of the Bar of Marília, brought by Ivo’s nephew, João Vitor Delgado Noal. The action, under judicial secrecy, dates back to 2013 and received numerous appeals from Noal’s family, until it was decided to put the property up for auction.

At the time the case was opened, there was a warrant of arrest for non-payment of alimony against Ivo Noal Filho and the lawyers requested that the grandfather, who was Ivo Noal, be responsible for alimony. However, second Piauí, the nephew did not receive the benefit for five years. To prevent the house from being auctioned off, part of the debt was paid off at R$750,000, leaving R$612,200 to be paid.

According to the Mega Leilões website, Fazenda São Mathias is located on Avenida Governador Mario Covas Junior, in colonial style and with sea views. The property also has several rooms, a swimming pool and a bathtub.

Who was Ivo Noal?

A law graduate, Ivo became known for running clandestine gambling activities – hence the name ‘bicheiro’. The practice is banned in Brazil and is considered a crime.

According to information from the magazine Piauí, in the early 2000s, at the age of 65, his assets were estimated at R$561 million, approximately R$2.46 billion in adjusted values. All divided between more than seventy properties, an airline, a household goods factory and others.



The property has a colonial and luxury style

The few times he was arrested, between the 1950s and 1990s, he had to face charges such as exploitation of the Jogo do Bicho, gang formation, active and passive corruption.

Ivo’s death became public this Tuesday the 12th, one month after his death. He left behind approximately R$21.2 million in debts, million-dollar lawsuits and assets of unknown size. The family, made up of ten children, is in dispute over his assets.

According to Noal’s death certificate, the causes were coronavirus infection, bacterial pneumonia, ischemic stroke and heart failure.
