Taylor Lautner reveals he was almost replaced in Twilight

The actor also said that he had to “fight” to continue playing Jacob Black in the following films in The Twilight Saga

Taylor Lautner revealed that he almost stopped playing Jacob Black after Twilight(2008). In a podcast interview Call Her Daddy [via Variety]the actor said that, because he was very thin in the first film, he ran the risk of being replaced by a stronger actor from the second film onwards, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), which led him to dedicate himself to continuing in the role.

“My character, in the first film, is a skinny 16-year-old boy and, in New Moonhe turns into this 25-year-old muscular man.”, recalled the actor. Second Lautnerthe producers’ idea, initially, was “to cast a guy in his late twenties to play Jacob in the rest of the franchise.”

However, determined to continue playing the werewolf, the actor began training and, after an intense period of training, he gained around ten kilos. Even so, Lautner needed to retake the test for the paper Jacob: “I was ready. So when my team got the call [dos produtores]they asked, ‘Have you seen him recently?'”said.
