Febraban clarifies to the public the in-person operation during the holidays and informs the last working day of the year
The end of the year is approaching, and with several places on hiatus, the question may arise: my bank will be open on Christmas and New Year?
The Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) clarifies this doubt.
Is the bank open at Christmas?
According to a note from Febraban, the banks do not work on December 25thMonday, the day of the Christmas holidays.
On Tuesday 26th, services to the public will resume regularly in person in places where there are no municipal holidays.
Is the bank open on New Year’s Eve?
Just like during the Christmas holidays, the banks will not operate in-person services on January 1, 2024on the feast of Universal Fraternization.
On the 2nd, banking hours will return to normal, in places where there are no municipal holidays.
And on other days, in the midst of the end-of-year celebrations?
The last working day of the year will be December 28th, next Thursday. Therefore, on December 29, the last Friday of the year, there will be no banking hours and financial institutions will not open for in-person service to the public.
In general, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are not considered business days for banking purposes. On such days you can use electronic banking services, such as internet banking.
