Funk singer MC Mirella gave birth to her first daughter with dancer Dynho Alves on Tuesday afternoon (12/26). But the topic that dominated social media was not Serena’s birth but rather the series of publications of games made by the artist during her birth. In hospital Mirella was advertising for Blaze, a betting site under investigation for illegal gambling. She shared links on her Instagram stories of her and also her as she tried to live stream the birth of her daughter to her.
Mirella tried to document every moment on Instagram, where she has more than seven million followers. But even though she shared her pain and her water breaking, the ads interspersed with her reports displeased her fans. She promoted right up until the moment she gave birth, asking followers to follow accounts that shared exclusive photos and videos of her birth.
Mirella’s action was criticized by Internet users on social media, who expressed dissatisfaction with the use of the moment of birth for advertising purposes, accusing the funk singer of treating her daughter like a product. There was no shortage of comparisons with the “Black Mirror” series.
After the criticism, MC Mirella used her social media to defend herself. “I’m like that. My life is an open book. I really publish everything about my daily life, my everyday life. It’s not a problem for me that I work from here. In fact, that’s what I’ve always done. I asked a lot from God, to be able to bless my things. So I don’t see any problem in working, I don’t die,” the singer said.
