‘Welcome to Eden’: We explain the end of the successful Netflix series

On May 6, we met Zoa (Amaia Aberasturi), Africa (Belinda), Ibón (Diego Garisa), Charly (Tomy Aguilera) and Aldo (Albert Baró), some guys active on social media who were invited to a party at a island organized as part of a drink promotion. This is how the series ‘Welcome to Eden’ started. But once the party and revelry was over, the rest of the participants went ashore and when they woke up they discovered that they had to wait for the next ship. But, little by little, what started as a night of revelry will turn into a nightmare. On the island they discover a kind of colony, called the Eden Foundation, created by Astrid (Amaia Salamanca) and Erik (Guillermo Pfening), who teach them their peculiar lifestyle in that place, in which the rest of the inhabitants, boys and girls of the age of newcomers, seem to be delighted. But all that glitters is not gold.

The second season is confirmed but we do not know when it will arrive. The end of the first left several open fronts. Let’s review what they are for the new episodes.

The eighth chapter ended with a new party organized by the foundation to attract new followersboys and girls who are in their cages as Astrid assures, something paradoxical in the case of the guardian of Eden, an islet decorated with chill out in bluish tones where he has several kids imprisoned and held incommunicado. And where, as we have said, maintain harsh rules of coexistence and punish those who break them. As an example is what happens to poor Aldo at the end of the third episode when he tries to escape on that boat.

Isaac, the great enigma

Early in the series, Zoa sees a boy on the island. Something strange, because as she will warn Bel (Begoña Vargas), children are prohibited in this shady place. However, when Erik is injured in the penultimate chapter, Astrid suggests that he turn to Isaac. Quickly and without anyone noticing, the couple arrives at the location of this character: a child who lives apart from an adult, surely her guardian or caregiver. The little boy sews up the wound with a dexterity worthy of a surgeon. By the way, the space where Isaac is is one of the few rooms where there is almost nothing blue. He also wants to get out of that kind of prison. Who is this child? Who are the characters in the drawing in his room? Are Erik and Astrid her parents?

What happens outside the island?

Meanwhile, on land, Brisa Galván continues with her investigations as a private detective (she was hired by Ibon’s father). She is getting closer to unmasking the organization, but she still has a few steps left to get to the truth.

For his part, the fate of David (Jason Fernández), the boy who has an affair with Zoa at the first party, does not end well. The men of the organization get the information out of him that Gabi (Berta Castañé) has taken the bracelet, which he kept after the event.

What about the four new residents of Eden?

Ibon at first seems to be like a fish in water on the island, with its rules, its hierarchy and other sectarian issues.

Charly is not at all happy on the island but he has made very good friends with Maika (Lola Rodríguez). The girl knows of the boy’s intention to get out of there, something that she, the one in charge of the island’s technology, has warned him that she is crazy.

Africa (Belinda) is not happy about missing the party. While the others receive the guests, she sneaks into Erik and Astrid’s house in search of Erik, who is not to be found but is found somewhere hidden in that fortress: a secret chamber with technological equipment. Touching one of the buttons activates a giant antenna located near the module where Isaac is -and now also Erik- that sends a signal, leaving her locked in that room. What has caused the influencer?

Zoa has intimated and a lot of Bel. Both maintain the hope of leaving the island. This may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship, something that the protagonist has not achieved with Nico (Sergio Momo), who has not been able to accept that the young woman did not want anything with him. Nico is very aggressive with Zoa and suggests (even if it is to discover her before Judith and her company) to get out of there, and more after discovering that Judith (Ana Mena), the friend who accompanied him to that party, was killed. uptake. In the end it turns out that Nico is not as gentle as he appeared in the first episodes. Filled with frustration at having been rejected, the young man fights with Bel, but she is she has been able to with him. These two characters may continue to have problems in the next season.

In the module together with Zoa and Charly they plan how to go out during the evening on one of the ships to land. Faced with a devoid of the party, the boys prepare to escape. Ulises catches Zoa, but Ibón appears by surprise and kills the most dangerous boy of all the members of Eden. Charly manages to get on the boat, spotted by Maika’s drone. The boy seems to have gotten where he wanted.

Zoa flees while Eloy (Carlos Soroa) picks up the lifeless body of Ulises. The young woman continues swimming to the boat and, just before getting on it, she sees her dear sister Gabi getting on one of the boats that travels the few meters to the shore. She may be one of the new inhabitants.

And so, with Zoa petrified at the sight of her little sister, the first season ends. What is the protagonist going to do? Maybe she’ll reconsider and stay on the ship. Or she can go with Charly and have the opportunity to run away and go for help to save Gabi and the rest of the young people trapped in the dangerous community. The mystery is served. Now it’s time to wait.
