Even with the end of the DC Extended Universe and the launch of the new DC Cinematic Universe, starting in 2025, james gunn not ready to give up Margot Robbie in the new phase of the franchise. In conversation with fans on Threadsthe filmmaker and co-president of the DCU revealed his desire to work with the actress again.
“It’s been a long time since I talked to Margot about Harley [Quinn, a Arlequina]but I would love to work with her again, whether playing Harley or another character”he declared. “There are no plans at this time for anyone else to play Harley, with the exception of Lady Gaga in Joker 2 and cartoon voice actresses”.

Finally, the Harley Quinn was revamped and reappeared in The Suicide Squada mix of sequel and reboot of the 2016 film, directed by himself james gunn.
In the 2021 film, the character shared the screen with Peacemakerlived by John Cenawhich is already confirmed to return in the new DCU in the second season of Peacemaker (Peacemakerin the original), HBO Max series, which increases the chances of Robbie return to play the villain in the future.
