Seth Rogen’s super horny cameo in the third season of ‘The Boys’, explained

If you’ve ever wanted to see an A-list actor perform a lewd act, your chance has come.

Spoilers for episode 5 of the third season of ‘The Boys’

The superhero series ‘TheBoys’whose third season broadcasts Amazon Prime Video nowadayshas not shown any shyness when it comes to finding the perfect place for a good cameoand this season the stars have not been lacking, starting with Charlize Theron’s cameo, which connects with ‘Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness’ in the first scene of the season. It may seem like episode 5 has filled its own cameo quota with the appearance of Paul Reiser (best known for ‘Aliens: Return’, who is also having a great professional moment thanks to his role as Dr. Owens in ‘Stranger Things’) as the former Vought bigwig known only as “The Legend”, but there was much more to come. we have seen seth roden before on ‘The Boys’ -He is an executive producer of the series, after all- but never like this.

That’s how it is. ‘The Boys’ has established through subtext that Vought doesn’t treat former superhero royalty particularly well. While the main story of the third season revolves around our heroes (Hughie, Butcher, Mother’s Milk, etc.) searching for Soldier Boy, the leader of Payback, we’ve also seen glimpses of where some other members of that team are. Before The Seven. Butcher saw (and killed) one of them speaking at a lame gun convention. The Crimson Countess (kind of like ‘The Boys’ version of Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, the most powerful entity in the MCU) he is performing at an amusement park and singing about chimpanzees.

Oh, and she also works as a cam girl. In a scene from the episode, we see the Countess (played by Laurie Holden, a former ‘Walking Dead’ student) in a one-on-one chat on “Supe Porn Platinum” with a loyal customer who goes by the name “SIR-CUMS-A-LOT-779.” And that client is none other than… Seth Rogen. And it’s not Seth Rogen playing a guy, it’s Seth Rogen playing Seth Rogen. When the Crimson Countess tells her about some of the great achievements of her latest chimpanzee-based project, the comedic star shares some of her own experience. “I once worked with the monkey from ‘Outburst,'” she says. “It’s very good.”

However, Rogen reminds him that his counter is up, so it’s time to get down to business. And just as both sides get going, Billy Butcher bursts in and tackles the Crimson Countess. Seth Rogen is stunned, but that livestream doesn’t make him lose his attention -finishing what he set out to do even after Butcher appears on his screen.

    seth rogen cameo the boys

The extraordinary actor, writer, director and producer has already made two appearances in the universe of ‘The Boys’, one in the first season and one in the second. The first appearance lasted only a few seconds, in episode 6 of the first season, ‘The innocents’, where Rogen is briefly seen at a press conference for a movie, ‘Black Noir: Insurrection’, and talks about his first foray into the “Vought Cinematic Universe”. His second appearance, in the season two premiere episode ‘The Merry-Go-Round’, is similarly brief; It only lasts a couple of seconds and it shows Rogen paying tribute to Translucent after his death and talking about the “Translucent Franchise”, in particular a new movie, ‘Invisible Force 2’.

It’s clear that the Seth Rogen of The Boys universe is becoming more and more of a claim to Vought as time goes on. But in his longest cameo to dateit is clear that he likes the Crimson Countess.

Although until now we had not seen as much of him as in this last cameo of ‘The Boys’, Rogen has never been afraid to make fun of himself a little. In 2013, he and his writing/producing partner Evan Goldberg wrote and directed a movie called “The End of the Party,” in which Rogen, along with his usual gang of friends, including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride played exaggerated versions of themselves at a major industry party. The hook, of course, is that then the apocalypse begins, and all these spoiled actors have to figure out their own ways to survive.

Last year, Rogen also played a version of himself in an 11th season episode of ‘Larry David’. titled “Man Fights Tiny Woman”. While he does have the expected run-in and disagreement with Larry David, the episode also allows him to star in some kind of big-budget Viking movie which, of course, isn’t in the movie you’d probably imagine Seth Rogen would star in.

So it’s not exactly surprising that Rogen has a great sense of humor and already we’re waiting to see how his next cameo might top this one.
