Neymar sent R$800,000 and lawyers to help defend Daniel Alves. The attitude was criticized on social media
Neymar Sr. has sent R$800,000 plus lawyers to help Daniel Alves defend the Brazilian player accused of rape in Spain. The attacker’s father, in fact, explained the reason for sending the contribution.
In a conversation with former player Emerson Sheik, Neymar’s father explained the situation and assured that help was requested by the right back’s family.
“The family asked us for help. Daniele had no money to defend himself and the deadline to pay for the defense was running out. Think about it, at no time could I deny help to a friend who is trying to defend himself against a charge,” he said.
The amount, in fact, could reduce Daniel’s sentence if convicted. The payment to the court took place on August 9th.
Daniel has problems with the courts in Spain, but also in Brazil. After all, Daniel Alves has his accounts blocked. He was the target of a lawsuit filed by Dinorah Santana for non-payment of alimony from 2022. On August 10, 2023, the ex-wife went to court in Rio de Janeiro and demanded R$13 million from Daniel.
“Daniel is in pre-trial detention and has not been tried. To date, the presumption of innocence applies throughout the world. Either we participate in a pre-lynching and public trial or we try to help a friend and let the courts decide” Daniel’s fate “added Neymar.
Neymar talks about turning his back on Daniel
The Brazilian player’s father, in fact, assured that it will be necessary to wait for the trial before reaching conclusions on the case.
“I couldn’t turn my back… What if the court decides that Daniel is innocent? I would rather have the burden of believing in a friend than turning my back on someone,” he added.
