I have to be honest with you. There’s nothing I look forward to as much as Dune: Part 2. Anxiety. Euphoria. Restlessness. Mix all that up: It’s me every time I see material about the film.

My relationship with history began in 2021, with the theatrical release of Dune. It was the only movie I saw on the big screen during the pandemic. I wore a mask for more than two and a half hours of the session. I didn’t even drink water. I didn’t bat an eye. I left the room amazed.

I had not seen the 1984 film nor did I know the original book by Frank Herbert, published in 1965. My first contact was with Denis Villeneuve’s masterpiece.

A few weeks passed and I discovered that my brother-in-law was also a fan. I took his book. I devoured it in a few days.

Ok, this whole gigantic introduction has served to tell you the following: believe me, Part 2 is much better than Part 1 – which was already wonderful!

Dune 2 has everything it needs to be an epic. And Warner Bros. you know this. So much so that the film’s release was quite extensive. Which, of course, makes me very happy.

More information on the film

Dune: Part 2 brings back several star names, such as Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica Atreides), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban Harkonnen), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), and Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck).

New additions include Florence Pugh (Princess Irulan), Christopher Walken (Emperor Shaddam IV), Léa Seydoux (Margot Fenring) and Austin Butler.

The direction, as I said, is by Denis Villeneuve. Villeneuve himself wrote the screenplay together with Jon Spaihts.

The March 1st that appears on the poster concerns American cinemas.

The film premiered here first. Mark your diary: February 29, 2024 in Brazilian cinemas.
