The Boys will star as Johnny Cage in the Mortal Kombat sequel in theaters

The Boys, Star Trek and Lord of the Rings star Karl Urban will play Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, the sequel to the 2021 film that just wrapped production.

Although we’ve previously seen her in a photo posted on Instagram with blonde highlights, the actress announced the end of filming in a new post, thanking the cast, crew and stuntmen for their efforts on the sequel.

Mortal Kombat 2 Directed by Australia’s Simon McQuaid, as well as Mortal Kombat (2021). However, the plot of this sequel still remains a mystery.

According to the cast, almost all of the main characters from the first film — even those who were (apparently) killed off — will return. Hence, we will find Louis Tan (Cole Young), Jessica McNamee (Sonia Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano), Tadanobu Asano (Lord Raiden), Mehcad Brooks (Jax), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Chin Han (Shang Tsung ), Joe Taslim (Bi-Han/Sub-Zero) and Max Huang (Kung Lao).

Among the newcomers, the film will welcome two veterans of The New Adventures of Sabrina, Tati Gabrielle (Uncharted, You) as Jade and Adeline Rudolph, who will portray Kitana, as well as Martin Ford as Shao Kahn, Damon Herriman. In Quan Chi, Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod and Anna Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel – in addition to Johnny Cage Karl Urban who will make his debut on the screen. The iconic character, who was not from the first opus, has been eagerly awaited by fans: however, we will have to wait a little longer to find out, as the film does not yet have a scheduled release date.
