Corinthians lost against São Bernardo with one more player for almost the entire match; Maycon got angry
Midfielder Maycon was the most irritated player when he left the pitch, after Corinthians’ defeat against São Bernardo, this Saturday (27). The team had an extra player on the pitch for practically the entire match, as Rodrigo Souza received a red card just 13 minutes into the first half. Even so, Timão ended up defeated away from home, which made the midfielder angry and even self-critical, saying that the team did not try hard enough.
“First of all it’s a shame. We can’t have one more player and suffer counterattacks like we did. Whoever wears the Corinthians shirt must know what it represents. I start from me: I have to do better, differently”, we fight, we work harder and we represent the fans who come and sing for 90 minutes, pay expensive tickets. And we don’t represent them,” the midfielder told ‘TNT Sports’.
Maycon also said he understood the part of the Corinthians fans who, once again, booed the team, similar to what they did in the draw with Ituano. He recalled the difficulties of 2023, but asked for support for next Tuesday’s classic, against San Paolo.
“I know it’s difficult, last year was bad and we started badly again, but I only ask for the support of the fans, who will always be by our side. I hope that on Tuesday they can be by our side and have “A great party, because we will have I need them so much. In these moments I know that the fans are always united, only in this way will we be able to turn things around. What happens on the pitch is our responsibility, off the pitch we have no control over anything. I take on my responsibilities, as do the others,” she concluded.
