While the majority of streaming platforms have raised prices, such as Apple TV+ or Disney+, or removed the cheapest subscriptions, such as Netflix, the free operator has recently announced an offer that defies all competition.
On January 30th, Iliad, the French telecommunications group founded by Xavier Niel, unveiled its new free Ultra box, which the company claims. “The most powerful and complete box on the market with the best content”which should appeal to fans of lost movies and series across all available streaming platforms.
In fact, free offers with this new one Freebox Ultra Offer for €49.99 for the first year, then €59.99 / month with fiber up to 8 Gbps, latest generation Wifi 7, 280 TV channels, but above all access to the most popular streaming platforms in France.

Thus, free hits strongly with Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, CANAL+, but also OQEE, a free catalog that offers many movies and series, or even Universal+.
An attractive offer, but…
If this tempting offer seems too good to be true, there’s a reason and several. A little subtlety is hidden in this impressive subscription.
First, if you take advantage of the Freebox Ultra offer, you’ll only have access to one type of plan for Netflix and Disney, the “standard ad-supported” subscriptions. This subscription has limitations. You’re only allowed one screen for Netflix, and you don’t have access to the entire platform catalog. And for Disney+ only 2 screens are allowed.
You’ll have to pay extra if you want ad-free subscriptions to Netflix and Disney+. As for Prime Video, the offering offered is standard, with no ads (for now).
Then, the exclusivity of having CANAL+ is only live. You won’t be able to access repeats and myCANAL, nor Apple TV+ and Paramount+. And access to the TV with CANAL finally allows you to have 50 other secondary channels.
Finally, be careful, the free site clearly states that the CANAL+ subscription is separate and purchased directly from GROUPE CANAL+. So, if you later want to cancel your Freebox Ultra subscription, your CANAL+ subscription will not be automatically terminated.
