Cruz-Maltino claims he was harmed by referees’ errors in matches against Boavista, Bangu and Nova Iguaçu for the State Championship
Vasco began his campaign in Carioca without collective inspiration in creating shows. But also with complaints about refereeing decisions. In five matches so far in the tournament, the club claims there have been errors from the team leading the match in three. In this case, the debut with the 2-0 victory over Boavista, the 2-2 draw against Bangu and the 2-0 defeat against Nova Iguaçu.
These last two commitments, in fact, occurred consecutively. The setback for Laranjão da Baixada, this Wednesday (31), was marked by Cruz-Maltino’s demands towards the attacker Rossi. In the 25th minute of the first phase, the Gigante player da Colina was hit on the shin by the right back Cayo Tenório with his studs.
At that moment the Nova Iguaçu athlete already had a yellow card and should have been sent off directly. In fact, referee João Marcos Gonçalves did not signal a foul and ordered the game to continue. During the technical stop Rossi showed his bleeding leg.
In the second half Gigante da Colina complains about a strong arrival from Gabriel Pinheiro, still inside Rossi. The Vasco attacker performed a scissors kick almost to the baseline on the right side, a move that trapped his leg on the pitch and left him writhing in pain. Then he had to leave the field and Vegetti replaced him. Ferj anticipated Cruz-Maltino’s position and announced on his social networks the removal of judge Marcelo Gonçalves for “obvious defects”.
Vasco’s indignation in the duel with Bangu
In the 2-2 draw against Bangu, Ramón Díaz’s men experienced a similar situation. On that occasion Gigante da Colina was damaged by refereeing errors by referee Tarcizo Pinheiro Caetano, who also received a sending-off punishment and will undergo a recycling period.
Vasco’s board and technical committee lamented Jair’s dismissal just four minutes into the match. As well as the judge’s lack of discretion in two attacks involving Alvirrubro players, who should also receive a direct red card. In the 44th minute of the first half, Gabriel Canela was late on Erick Marcus and hit his foot. Tarcizo at that moment only showed a yellow card to Canela.
Later, in the 52nd minute of the second half, Walney was involved in a challenge with Vasco’s Zé Gabriel on the edge of the area. During the game, the Bangu athlete tried to disarm his opponent, but he went with his high leg and committed a foul by planting his studs on the shin of the Cruz-Maltino player. The referee only warned with a yellow card. Three minutes later, the referee flagged a questionable penalty awarded in an action involving Medel. The Chilean defender charges past Gabryel Freitas, who falls in the area.
Outrage at aggression
Meanwhile, in the win against Boavista, Argentine defender Capasso received an elbow to the back of the head, which caused him to hemorrhage. Verdão de Saquarema’s forward, Matheus Lucas, tried to break free from the defender’s marking, but without success, and attacked his opponent.
The referee of the match, Wagner do Nascimento Magalhães, did not even show the yellow card or record the incident on the scoresheet. So Vasco issued an infringement notice with the aim of requesting punishment of the attacker, striker Matheus Lucas. The athlete will be put on trial, this Friday (02), by the 4th Disciplinary Commission of the Sports Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro.
