We chose westerns with at least 100 votes – to avoid a film in which only 2 opinions were artificially considered “worst” – and excluded films that combine western and fantasy, such as Jonah Hex (1, 58), or the disastrous Gallow Walkers. According to AlloCiné audience critics, if Diablo fails, it’s not so much the fault of Scott Eastwood, who does what he can, but the script, as Alex Y. writes on AlloCiné: “They didn’t have a story to tell, but they still wanted to produce something, for some unknown reason.”
“Sure, the scenery is great and the photography is great, but it’s an empty shell”, adds L?c!s. According to him, the film is “A beautifully decorated but hollow cup”.
