28 years after Twister, Tornado Chasers are back in theaters… The trailer for Twisters was released during the Superbowl and it’s spectacular!
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for Minaret, the $200 million budget feature film is written by Mark L. Smith, co-writer of The Revenant.
The studio describes Twisters As a “new chapter” that follows the adventures of a group of tornado chasers. Therefore, the film will not see the return of the old cast and will not be a direct sequel, reboot or prequel, but simply a new story.

The film follows a former storm chaser who, after surviving a deadly tornado, now works in an office. But the latter will be forced to return to his first love.

British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones ( Normal People Where the Crabs Sing ) will play the new character in this feature film alongside Glenn Powell, seen in Top Gun: Maverick and Everything But You .
Anthony Ramos, recently in the cast of Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, Kiernan Shipka, Sabrina from the Netflix series, David Korenswet, the new DCU’s future Superman, Sasha Lane, spotted in American Honey, Cathy O’Brian (The Mandalorian) or Maura Tierney, who currently stars in Iron Claw, rounds out the cast.
Hitting our cinemas in 1996, Jan de Bont’s Twister followed a couple of tornado chasers played by Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton. Together with a team of meteorologists, adventurers and daredevils, they travel the roads of the Midwest to observe tornadoes. The film was a huge success at the international box office with $495 million.
