On Thursday, June 23rd, the world premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi, took place at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. This is the fourth installment in the Thor superhero franchise. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Tessa Thompson. All of them appeared on the red carpet before the closed viewing of the tape.
The actors came to the premiere with their halves: Natalie was accompanied by her husband Benjamin Millepied, Chris was with his wife Elsa Pataky, and Christian was with his wife Sibi Blazik. Only Taika was alone – according to rumors, his fiancee Rita Ora missed the premiere of a new picture of her beloved.
For the release, 41-year-old actress Natalie Portman chose a short sparkling one-shoulder dress by Celine, and 38-year-old Tessa Thompson – a long outfit from Armani Privé, made as if from liquid metal. The male part of the cast and guests chose classic costumes. The wives of Hemsworth and Bale dressed differently: Elsa opted for a white bodycon dress with a plunging neckline, while Sibi opted for a long-sleeved black lace cocktail dress.
According to the plot of the new film, the main character Thor, played by 38-year-old Chris Hemsworth, is going to fight back against the killer of the gods Gorr. In the fight against evil, he is helped by his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who also managed to get divine powers. The film was directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Ragnarok.
Note that this time for the role of Christian Bale made fewer sacrifices than usual. At least the actor did not change his physical form in a matter of months or even weeks, but limited himself to makeup. But still, thanks to the makeup, he changed beyond recognition. Natalie will appear in the frame with powerful biceps, however, contrary to rumors in the media, it turned out to be only computer graphics.
Recall that for the film “The Machinist” Bale lost 30 kilograms in four months. At the time of filming, the actor weighed 50 kilograms with a height of 183 cm. For the next role of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, the actor, after total exhaustion of the body, added 40 kilograms in just six weeks. Christian’s experiments with his body did not end there, he lost weight several more times, and then recovered from 67 to 92 kilograms for his role in the movie “American Hustle” and appeared in an unusual image of a fraudster with a solid belly.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released worldwide on July 8th. The date of the film’s premiere in Russia is unknown.
