One of the most unusual and funniest scenes in Barbiefilm directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbieis a fight scene in which Alan, played by Michael Cerafights with different Kens. However, filming this moment was directly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During podcast interview Happy Sad Confused, Wax revealed how the fight scene would actually focus on a cameo from Ben Affleckwho gave up appearing in the film due to the direction and acting in AIR: The Story Behind the Logo (2023).
“I think that Ben I wanted to do that, but he directed his film. They’re like, ‘OK, Ben is out, something needs to happen here. Then you will fight them.’ So I needed to join the stunt team,” said the actor in the conversation.
“I had just overcome Covid-19, they sent me to train and I almost died. I’m just warming up! I had to lie down in my trailer, they sent the nurse to check on me and I was sent home,” he recalled Michael Cera. “So we did a second rehearsal and I learned. That’s basically the story.”
