The Argentine scored two goals in Inter’s 4-0 win against Lecce, away from home. There are nine points ahead (and one game less) for second place
Inter remained in Italian. This Sunday (25/2), they went to Lecce and overwhelmed the hosts, at the Via del Mare Stadium: 4 to 0. The reigning champion is thus aiming decisively towards another championship. After all, they have 66 points, nine more than second-placed Juventus and still have a game in hand. Lecce, with 24 points, remains in the danger zone. They are in 14th place, but are just four points ahead of Verona, first in the relegation zone.
Argentine top scorer Lautaro Martínez stood out once again, scoring two of Inter’s goals. The first of the Serie A top scorer was the hundredth in Italy. The other goals came from Frattesi and defender De Vrij.
In the second half Inter starts again
Lecce’s strategy for the match was to close in on defense, start with a frantic rush towards the attack when they had the ball and seek the finish line at all costs. And the team did it. So much so that he finished the game with just 38% of ball possession, but 14 shots. Much more than Inter (nine). Only one, however, went towards Audero’s goal. The Milanese team, in turn, had volume. And despite the strong marking, we went into half-time with the score at 1-0. The goal arrived in the 15th minute, Mkhitaryan played for Lautaro who entered the area at speed and beat the goalkeeper Falcone.
If in the first half it was more complicated for Inter to reach the goal, things changed towards the end. In the 9th minute, when Frattesi appeared free in the area to complete Sánchez’s great play and make it 2-0, he definitively opened the visitors’ door. Two minutes later Lecce loses the ball in midfield. Frattesi receives it and passes it to Lautaro Martínez, who launches himself on the ball and scores his second goal of the match. In the 24th minute, from a corner taken by Di Marco, de Vrij scored the fourth with a header.
