Deva doesn’t want David to leave the institute for the wrong reasons
Indeed, in this scene we find David (Liam Helman) and Deva (Kathy Pakianathan) in a young woman’s room at the Marais. Deva doesn’t want him to end up unhappy because of her. “I don’t want you to stop yourself from leaving because of me either.”recognizes David.
There is silence. The emotion is palpable, as if they both know how this will end, but neither dares to say it yet. “So I’m going to go and you’re going to stay.”, replies Deva, who now seems to have decided to take responsibility for the decision she made for their relationship. David points out that being apart for a year will be difficult. “Especially if we stay together…”– adds the young woman.
Reluctantly, Deva decides to end her relationship with David
The second grader does not understand what his girlfriend is up to. “Don’t act like that: think about it too”Deva assures. “Of course I thought about it, but I don’t want to leave each other”David explains to him.
