The club is still demanding punishment for those involved in the attack in Recife in the match against Sport
Still without answers about the crime after the match against Sport (so far no one has been arrested), Fortaleza wore a white shirt with blood stains in reference to what happened.
Before the kick-off of the match against the Cearense Championship, Fortaleza wore a shirt as a sign of protest: white with the indication of the bloodstains and protesting demanding punishment for the people involved in the case. On that occasion, some Leão players were injured physically and psychologically (João Ricardo, Escobar, Titi, Brítez, Lucas Sasha and Dudu in total, with Titi and Escobar still absent).
The shirt, predominantly white, had some red stains in reference to blood. In addition, on the back the phrase “1.5 centimeters” since this was the “distance” that could have caused an even more serious tragedy for the player Gonzalo Escobar.
In terms of pitch and ball, Fortaleza struggled but only drew against Maracanã (match where the shirt was worn before the ball rolled). The match valid for the first leg of the semi-finals of the Cearense Championship ended in a draw, 1-1.
