This k-drama tells the story of a man and a woman who had promising lives and were former academic rivals, but fall into depression, quit their jobs, and end up being neighbors.

Yeo Jung-woo is a famous plastic surgeon who is going through the worst crisis of his life due to a mysterious medical accident. while Nam Ha-neul is an anesthesiologist suffering from burnout after being harassed by a professor at medical school.

From their not-so-pleasant reunion, they will begin, without predicting it, a romance that will help them get out of the black hole that their lives have become.

At the worst moment of their existence, these former rivals find in each other the comfort they so desperately sought to get through the terrible “hit”.

Although the title may not sound very appealing, the plot has completely gripped the audience, written by Baek Sun-woo. Starring Park Hyung-shik, Park Shing-hye and Jang Hye-jin, directed by Oh Hyun Jong.

Kim Se-ah, Kim Da-hee and Lee Soo-bum are the executive producers of this series whose previous and original titles (in Korea and the United States) were: ‘Dakteoseulleompeu’ and ‘Doctor Slump’.

“Existential Emergencies” has 16 chapters of 22 minutes each.

The series premiered on January 27 on Netflix and has since become one of the most popular non-English series on the platform so far in 2024 with more than 20 million views worldwide.
