For the second week in a row, Kung Fu Panda 4which debuted at the top, maintained its position in US theaters this weekend, grossing another $30 million on a total box office take of more than $107 million. Dune: part 2 it also maintained second place with just over $29.1 million, but a sum that puts it ahead overall (more than $205 million).
It is worth noting that the success of Kung Fu Panda 4 it happens even without the film having been distributed globally. In Brazil, for example, where the character is successful, it debuts only on Thursday (21st).
The sequel arrives after a seven-year hiatus, bringing back not only the clever Po (Jack Black), but also the villainous Tai Lung (Ian McShane), the famous leopard from the original 2008 film. Watch the trailer here!
Success in the animation genre, Kung Fu Panda (2008) grossed an impressive $631 million at the worldwide box office. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount, the film became DreamWorks’ highest-grossing non-sequel animated film and the highest-grossing animated film of the year worldwide.
With a total of three films (2008, 2011 and 2016), previous films can be watched on Apple TV+ and Prime Video. The 2016 sequel is also present on Netflix, as is the animated series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.
