New chapter of the animated saga took the lead from Os Farofeiros 2, sequel to the 2018 national comedy, after two consecutive weeks in the position
Kung Fu Panda 4, the new chapter of the animated saga released in 2008, barely arrived in Brazilian cinemas and already won first place at the box office. In its opening weekend, the feature grossed R$11.73 million, almost double the second place, which went to the series The Chosen: The Chosenand the showing of the first two episodes of the 4th season, with R$5.9 million.
The Farofeiros 2, which had been in first place for the last two weeks, fell to third place with a collection of R$4.6 million. Once again behind the sequel to the 2018 national comedy, Dune: Part 2, directed by Dennis Villeneuve (The arrival) and based on the work of Frank Herbert (1920-1986), was in fourth place with R$3.02 million. Finally, the terror Imaginary: Devil’s Toy closed the Top 5 with less than one million reais raised.
